On September 1, 2010 Mr. Leslie Tucker, long time resident of Drayton Valley passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years.
In the fall of 1996, Leslie invited family and friends to a gathering at this cabin in the woods - only 10 minutes from town.
This cabin was his gift to all and for over 10 years many wonderful times were shared with grandpa. This was where we celebrated the turning of the century, a wedding, Christmas, countless birthdays, and reunions. Hopefully, the grandchildren will get together here again and share the wonder of this spot with their own families.
Les is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Louise; two sons, Gordon (Val), Greg; two daughters, Darleen (Raymond) Broadbent, Iona (Ed) Hutzal; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brother, Ted (Evelyn); two sisters, Evelyn Jensen, May Urchyshyn; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Leslie was predeceased by his son, Tom; great-granddaughter, Marina McQuaig; parents, Jack and Violet Tucker; brothers, Johnny Bills, Dan Bills; and sister, Winnie Jevne. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Conference Centre 5737 - 45 Avenue in Drayton Valley with Dwayne Henley officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Drayton Valley Health Services Foundation, 4550 Madsen Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1N8 with funds dedicated to Continuing Care.
