All Dressed up

christmas eve assembly line

Centel and Barret organized a fun evening - decorating the tree with popcorn, licorice, and cinnamon sticks by 13 pairs of little hands (ages 7 months to 19 years), two sets of grandparents and three sets of parents. Three girls took our pizza orders -marked off our choices for toppings, sauces, and cheeses from printed forms. Then this assembly line put the pizzas together!! Haven't had this much fun since I was a kid and got together with all my cousins.

Gingerbread house destruction

Still hate building those sticky houses - we left ours on the deck for the birds!!!

Give me a Beach somewhere

WHAT A WINTERY week. First came the snow, then the temperature dropped to -20c and Friday, -27c. We had NO power all day Friday. Decoa and Jeff were without power over 12 hours and concerend about the wine in kegs. Overnight the temperature warmed up to -15c and now we have MORE snow; lots more snow. Jagger and Jace came for a sleepover; in the morning we all went outside to help grampa clean the driveway and play.

A week of Farewells

It's time to update my blog. On Monday, November 24, 2008 my dear friend, Barbara Matheson passed away with dignity, after living with pancreatic and liver cancer diagnosed this past May.

Her courage and strength left all who knew her, in awe. Her family, neighbors and many good friends will miss her dearly. I came to know Barbara first through curling, then golf. Our curling team started tripping around together in the mid-80's and continued after we left curling. September 5, we celebrated her 60th here in Lake Country. She leaves hubby George, daughter Margo, granddaughters Hannah and Gabby.

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 Marina McQuaig passed away after 8 1/2 years of living with epilepsy. Her family: mother, Janaia, father Randy, brother Connelly and sister Jaelene, grandparents, Ed and Iona Hutzal and Gaelene and Alex Blais plus aunts, uncles and cousins.
