Completed UFO"S

Every 3 years VSSQ (Vernon Silver Star Quilt Guild) has a UFO Challenge which divides any members who sign up into two teams based on the number of entries and the size. I signed up to finish 11 of my quilted projects. My list included 5 bed quilts which would earn my team most points. I was done by the begiining of June with 2 weeks to go! These are some of the 11:
Shadow Play using fabrics I collected way back in the 90's.
Longarm quilted by Brenda Barrit.

My stacky went whacky! Based on Stack and Whack method for cutting fabric. Started 2002 to 2004. My own layout and design for corners. Longarm quilted by Brenda Barrit.

Disappearing Nine Patch. Birdhouses. Longarm quilted by Brenda Barrit.

Where's the Logic from a workshop taught by Dianne Jansson. There is No Logic. . .I am Ukrainian and I used all my favorite colorful fabrics. Machine Quilted by me!!!

Skinny quilt or Bed Runner to match the Logic quilt using leftovers

Sunflowers . My version of of a technique taught by Linda Hatten in 2011. We were taught how to make 3-D sunflowers. I took soooo long to finish, the sunflowers took root, and needed to be watered, then were visited by a dragon fly. Machine Quilted by me!!!

Grand Canyon

After four hours of driving, an overnight stay in Williams, another hour drive and FOG over the canyon. Fresh snow, perfect for making snowmen! But, NOT what I wanted to do!

100 year old Hopi Indian adobe house, Native art storeOnce the fog cleared, we could see the Grand Canyon from a few outposts! Well, I wanted to really see the Canyon but exploring or hiking was not possible. Sooo, drive 5 hours back to Vegas!

Red Rock Canyon
